PENNINE FIVE WINS PRESTIGIOUS PROPERTY AWARD

Pennine Five, the major Sheffield city centre office refurbishment by RBH Properties, was crowned Sustainable Development of the Year at this year’s South Yorkshire Property Dinner.

The Insider South Yorkshire Property Dinner Awards 2023, which took place this week, is a showcase of the strength and depth of the property sector within the region.

Jeremy Hughes, Director at RBH Properties, said:

“Pennine Five winning the Sustainable Development of the Year award is a phenomenal achievement and is recognition of all the hard work we have invested in delivering a positive future for this complex. We truly believe this is an exemplar project, one that manages to balance regeneration and keeping carbon emissions low.”

The decision to refurbish the complex rather than demolish and rebuild has saved over 150,000 tonnes of new concrete and steel, which equates to over 170,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Pennine Five was also nominated for Property Deal of the Year following the successful letting of 34,000 sq ft of office space to Spaces – the modern flexible workspace brand owned by the same group that run Regus.

Taking all upper floors of  the eight-storey block on Tenter Street, the deal represents one of the largest commercial deals in Sheffield city centre in the last five years.

“The signing of Spaces will have a big impact in this area of the city centre and demonstrates the great work we have done in modernising the buildings and wider site”, added Jeremy.

The South Yorkshire Property Dinner property Awards ceremony took place on Thursday 6 July at Sheffield City Hall, celebrating the best of the region’s property developments that are reshaping South Yorkshire.
